Urgent Medical Saves and Changes Lives in Kenya

Your support over these past months has given much relief to many people in and around Oyugis, Kenya…and for that, I say “Thank You!”

Several incidents of people being run down by passing motorists – cars and motorcycles were covered with your support of the Urgent Medical project.

On one occasion one of our team members stopped to see why a crowd had gathered just off the roadway. He found a 65-year-old woman who was lying in the street after being run down by a motorbike taxi. He was able to get her a car to help her to the hospital where he learned she was an elderly widow without any resources to help with her medical costs.

A quick call to our office brought them the funds for this woman – with a broken leg – to be attended to and treated.

Months ago, the medical expenses of a young woman leaving work who was attacked and severely beaten by a gang of thugs were covered. Recently, your support helped to provide the funds for an artificial eye to replace her damaged eye from the attack.

What an amazing difference is being made in people’s lives and YOU are helping these things happen.

所以很难to believe that the year is just a few months away from a new beginning …2023.

Looking back over the last few months, it is overwhelming to me how YOU have helped cover so many Urgent Medical needs.

Multiple x-rays… MRIs… Medications…even Surgeries!

Felix needed help covering hospital costs after being beaten by a group of people at a rally.

Atieno had a growth that needed to be cultured and medications to heal her.

Malita was violently ill only to discover an amoeba was making her sick.

Omond was involved in a motorbike accident and needed hospitalization.

And so it goes on… You had a hand in helping to cover these needs and so many more.

Many people today are recovered and some even alive thanks to your generosity!

You are a gift…a true treasure to a so many, many Kenyans.

These past months your faithful support has impacted so many lives who needed Urgent Medical help.

Thank You!

We saw a series of broken bones, stomach ailments, cancer treatments, diagnoses of very serious disease and of course tons of malaria cases as it seems the mosquitos in Oyugis are on the attack!

But this was also a season of babies. Babies suffering from malnutrition, typhoid, and malaria.

Several of these cases involved not only the babies but their mums too.

For example…a set of twins were in the hospital, both with different ailments. Their mum stayed by their side and ended up becoming ill and admitted as well. The cost of the hospital was covered for both babies and mum through some of your donations. This mum was too ill to nurse her children and so formula was purchased to keep them nourished until mum was recovering and sent home.

Another mum was devastatingly ill and couldn’t nurse. Her month old baby laid by her side in her hospital bed and was fed with formula purchased by you and other donors.

These cases were life-saving!

These past months have seen so many traumatic injuries and incidents. Your faithful support has helped to cover multiple medical costs.

Two such instances were unconscious young people….one from a sports injury and the other from a vicious assault. One has since recovered, the other is still in the process.

Two work accidents involved hospitalizations and broken bones. Their medical needs are being met as well with your support.

Eye injuries, malaria, biopsies, rabies treatments, CT scans and MRIs and so much more….babies to the elderly…YOUR support has helped to cover the costs.

And just as important, it also has restored health and well being AND it has saved lives.
