Ration for 1000 families of person with disability

With global inflation at an all-time high, it has become increasingly difficult for people in Pakistan to make ends meet. This struggle is compounded for marginalized groups such as persons with disabilities, who face additional challenges in supporting themselves and their families. During these unprecedented times, your support has played a pivotal role in bringing meals to the tables of 20 families of persons with disabilities.

Thanks to your donations, we have been able to provide one ration bag to each of these 20 families, which is enough to sustain a family of four for a month. This support has been a lifeline for the families, as it has not only helped them meet their basic nutritional needs but also eased their financial burden during these challenging times.

希望和韧性有了全新的认识the beneficiaries, it is a reminder to all that when faced with adversity, the community is always there to step up and help each other.

On behalf of NOWPDP, we would like to extend our utmost gratitude to our well-wishers for their countless contributions. We hope that we can continue to count on your support in the future as we work towards building a more equitable and just society.

The recent floods in Pakistan, which were a result of climate change adversities have wreacked havoc across the country. Particularly in the areas along the Indus River Belt, thousands of lives were lost and the remaining have been changed forever.

在过去几个月里,我们的团队出现部位ns in Sindh that were densely populated with persons with disabilities to understand their plight and provide immediate assistance to them. At a time when their hopes were low, your generousity played an instrumental role in changing countless lives. One ration bag was enough to feed a family of 5 for a month - and in these trying times, your help allowed us to bring smiles on the faces of those affected by one of the worst climate chamge adversities to hit Pakistan.

On behalf of our fellow Pakistanis, we at NOWPDP are grateful to you for your unwavering support. Thank you for being our well-wishers and we hope that together, we can bring positive, sustainable changes in the lives of persons with disabilities.

Pakistan has an alarming rate of 27 million men, women, and children who are reported to have disabilities. One of the cities that hosts the largest number of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) is Sujawal which also happens to be one of the poorest districts in Sindh. These PWDs are part of one of the most marginalized communities in Pakistan, and they face restrictions and barriers to education, employment, and basic involvement in society.

In the months of April and May, we were able to provide 150 ration bags to PWDs and their families. These ration bags equipped them with staple items and cooking essentials for months to come ahead.

It is through your generous contributions that we had the chance to help one of the most disenfranchised communities in Pakistan. One beneficiary indirectly links us to atleast 5 others and we are able to impact not just 150 lives, but around 400 lives.

It is your unwavering support that has allowed us to come as far as we have today. We thank you for your continued support and hope that together, we can make a difference in more lives.

"I have four brothers who help me around and support me because of my physical disability. It is difficult for me to get a job because I crawl from place to place. For the first time in years, I was able to put food on the table for an entire month and take care of my family the way they have been taking care of me for years! I can't express how grateful I am to the donors who thought about me and my family in these trying times."

With the global pandemic still at large and a spike in food prices, it has become difficult to help make ends meet for many of the marginalized communities in Pakistan. Your support enabled us to conduct a ration drive in Attock in November 2021 and reach out to many families like that of Baksh. The ration bags distributed included staple items such as wheat flour, lentils, rice, chickpea, oil, sugar, salt, red chilli and turmeric.

It is through your contribution that we were able to help improve the lives of persons with disabilities in Pakistan. We thank you for your continued support and hope that together, we can make a difference in more lives.

We are thankful to you for being a well-wisher of NOWPDP. With your support, we were able to recentlyconduct a ration camp at Rawalpindi. Through this report, I am also conveying the gratitude of our beneficiaries. I have picked brief stories of the individuals who we met in the camp who specifically asked us to give you, their regards.

“I sell barbeque in a kiosk near my home. It makes me so happy when someone introduces my street with the name of my kiosk. I try but I don’t earn much to support my family, so I am grateful to the donors who supported us in these difficult times”,Wazir

“I like growing my hair. Currently, I am thinking of a hairstyle that I might choose once it grows full length. I am learning graphic design and thinking to start my freelance graphic design career soon. I am sure I will have a better future.”,Zia

“Necessity leads you to do anything. In my case, it introduced me to start my own small business. After being confined to my home for years, I finally stepped out one day and started my own kiosk. The recent increment in food prices completely shook my confidence and I was so fearful if I will be able to support my family this month, and your support for ration is a big relief. Thank you to the people who came forward to help us.”,Babar

I request you toconsider making a donation todayto help us continue our work for therelief, education, and job placement of persons with disabilitiesin Pakistan. Thank you once again.
