Dear Supporter,
Moldova remains very tense. Whilst still being home tonearly 100,000 Ukrainian refugees (withit’sown3 million population already facing huge hardships) it alsofears it will be next for invasion or artillery attack.
Added to this is fear over the supply, and if supplied then the cost, of gas. Theyare virtually whollydependenton Russian gas. The Tony HawksCentre, providing essential rehabilitation for over 600 children living with disabilities, has already warned that they may have to close over winter due to thecutting of gas supply. Families will also be severely affected. Ona more positive note, a parent of one of the Centre’s children is setting up anewcharity in Moldova for children with cochlear implants. They have been providedwith equipment and 80sqm of space in which they can provideeducational support. However, they have reached out to the Tony HawksCentre for financial support until the New Year.ChildAidhas been very pleasedto cover these costs for two months, amounting to around £1,000. Meanwhile, we are re-starting our programme of teaching the disciplines of occupationaltherapy.
The mobility equipment's we sent to Tony HawksCentre,Moldova have arrived. Tears of joy and happiness for children and their parents. Such essential and necessary equipment.
Thank you for making our work possible

The wonderful work of our partner Tony Hawks Centre, Moldova goes beyond free rehabilitation and therapy.
They make sure families are well by providing food and psychological support to the parents. They offer free advice to parents and training, but also care for the wellbeing of the whole family.
When Elena had a COPM test ( COPM is a reliable, valid outcome measure that can be used in a wide variety of clinical settings to help occupational therapists work with clients to set goals and detect change in perceived occupational performance over time.) the most important performance problem for her turned out to be vision deficiency, which prevents her from improving her psycho-verbal abilities.
我们被告知,我们的合作伙伴,把局部激素y to get suitable glasses for her. Elena and her mother were grateful for the kindness they received.
With the help of glasses and the occupational therapist, Elena will receive more information from the environment, she will distinguish lights, shapes, colours, objects, and so she will be able to better orientate herself in space, she will be capable of maintaining her body balance and will improve her gait.
This could not have been possible without your support.
Thank you for your kind support

Thank you for supporting our work with less fortunate children. The Tony Hawks Children's Health Centre improves the life quality of chronically ill children from socially vulnerable families. They combine multi-disciplinary rehabilitation with parental education to help promote each child’s integration into society. The aim is to optimize the child’s potential for the future development of their young bodies.
While the service is free to access for users, the annual budget to operate the Centre is in the region of £92,000.
Additional funding will help the team at the Tony Hawks Centre maintain their free-to-use service, and allow them to enhance and replace orthopaedic equipment. The Centre also needs to maintain their programme of providing desperately needy children and their families practical aid in the form of medications, food, and clothing.
The household budgets for families with disabled children are always under severe pressure. Economic crisis such as that experienced with Covid-19 makes such pressure even harder.
Over the Christmas period, the team from the centre, distributed food packages to families in need. The families were thankful for the kindness they received.
Food packages are so important for struggling families, but with your support, we are giving children the tools to reach their full potential.
Thank you for supporting this programme.
